favourite comedian friendships: Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie
“Hugh is my best friend. We make each other laugh.”
“We often finish our own—”
“I was going to say breakfast.”
They’re the best.
a letter written by mr. Stephen Fry
to a girl suffering from depression
[set of 4 gifs of stephen fry on QI talking: “Geneticists have established that every woman in the world shares a single female ancestor, who lived 150,000 years ago. Scientists do actually call her Eve. And every man shares a single male ancestor, dubbed Adam. It has also been established, however, that Adam was born 80,000 years after Eve. So the world before him was one of heavy to industrial strength lesbianism, one assumes.”]
Phill: Because I can’t outthink or sort of outperform Fry, all I can do is flirt with him. Which does make him go really… He just turns into a Jane Austen character.
Stephen: How many muscles are there in your fingers?
Phill: One if you play your cards right.
Stephen: I’m not looking at you. Dreadful boy. I’m not going to pay any attention to you now.
A Bit of Fry & Laurie - Grandfather’s Letter [via imaginemarvelous]
I hadn’t seen this one before. <3!
I think it was Donald Mainstock, the great amateur squash player, who pointed out how lovely I was. Until that time, I think it was safe to say that I’d never really been aware of my own timeless brand of loveliness, but his words smote me because, of course, you see, I am lovely in a fluffy, moist kind of a way and who would have it otherwise? I walk – let’s be splendid about this – in a lightly accented cloud of gorgeousness that isn’t far short from being, quite simply, terrific. The secret of smooth, almost shiny, loveliness of the order of which we are discussing in this simple, frank, creamy, soft way, doesn’t reside in oils, unguents, balms, ointments, creams, astringents, milks, moisturizers, liniments, lubricants, embrocations or balsams, to be rather divine for just one noble moment; it resides, and I mean this in a pink, slightly special way, in one’s attitude of mind. To be gorgeous and high and true and fine and fluffy and moist and sticky and lovely, all you have to do is to believe that one is gorgeous and high and true and fine and fluffy and moist and sticky and lovely, and I believe it of myself. Tremulously, at first, and then with mounting heat and passion because, stopping off for a second to be super again, I’m so often told it. That’s the secret, really.
The key to Dancercise is the rather ingenious coupling of the word “Dance” to the word “circumcise”.
This woman is amazing, and of course I completely agree.
I’ve got permission from my boyfriend
and he’d like to help you out
